Panel 1

Inspired by the pure consonances of the Indian Classical Tradition, the soundscapes in our Meditation all conform to the pure intervals of the harmonic series. The effect of the perfect mathematics of Just Intoned harmonies on the mind, nervous system and physiology of the listener facilitates balance, expansion, overall wellbeing and release.

We begin the evening with a brief dialog on the importance of active participation verses passive with simple “how to” pointers into potent breath work igniting the subtle body and to pique the imagination into orienting techniques, so as to know where we are in relation, to self, other, space and time. Knowing affords ease, certainty and safety. Lastly a quick meditation via our senses especially listening, which contribute to the quality of our overall experience and lives. These techniques will set the conditions for optimum engagement and receptivity.

YOUR POSITION How you sit or lay is relevant and we encourage subtle shifting during the Meditation.  This lends for more comfort and affords taking best advantage. A few pointers and options will be demonstrated, assistance will be available and ample props, at the ready.

In the end, we weave it all together and send you out embodied and renewed.

KATONAH YOGA® was founded by Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga Center over 30 years ago. Influenced by the study of Hatha yoga, Chinese theory, and sacred geometry, she created, developed, and continues to refine this unique practice. Both esoteric and pragmatic, the Katonah theory and its practice promotes self-awareness through techniques that foster well-being, which facilitates personal transformation.
